What is the "Unit Support Committee"?
Every individual Cadet Unit in New Zealand has a Unit Support Committee made up of voluntary members from the community, which is often parents and relatives of cadets.
This committee assists with the fundraising and the supply of voluntary labour and resources when required. The USC is instrumental to the efficient running of the Unit, working behind the scenes to enhance the experience of the cadets within the Unit.
The Unit Support Committee is a branch of the Air Training Corps Association of New Zealand (ATCANZ). The Air Training Corps Association of New Zealand is the national civilian support organisation for the Air Training Corps, consisting of a National Executive Branch and individual Unit Branches.
Meetings
The Unit Support Committee meets on the first Thursday of every month, throughout the school year, at the Canterbury Recreational Aeroclub Clubroom from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Anyone interested, regardless of whether affiliated with the unit or not, is warmly welcomed and is encouraged to attend. USC meetings are an opportunity for parents to ask questions and learn about the activities and ideas being planned for the cadets within the Unit.
Payments
If you are looking to pay Unit fees or other Unit costs via Internet Banking, please deposit payment to BNZ 02-0876-0264932-00. Please include the Cadet’s surname and the reason for payment in the reference details. In most intances, we ask that your Friendly Manager Invoice number is the title of the reference section.
Alternatively, you may make cash payments to the Unit in an enclosed envelope marked with the Cadet's surname and the reason for payment on a Thursday night. However, electronic payment is preferred in the first intance.
